30% and rising!
As of mid August we now have £45,000
in the Appeal bank account!
This means we already have nearly one third of the target (£150,000) - great progress, and all thanks to the many people who have rallied round and donated not only with money but through activities and ideas. By popular demand we will now display monthly fundraising progress by the church Lych Gate and in the Post Office.
In the last few weeks Liz and Keith Gibbs, Wendy and Richard Jackson and Olivia Spall have all run extremely successful garden events. John Miles-Taylor has kindly made and donated beautiful jewel/trinket boxes for us to sell - a Christmas present perhaps? Huge thanks to you all.
Dozens attended the coffee morning hosted by Liz and Keith Gibbs - second time lucky with the weather after the first date was rained off. Coffee, cake, sunshine - perfect
In the background, the essential work goes on – of scrutinising quotations from possible bell suppliers, liaising with experts and the Diocese, visiting churches and learning from their experiences. We aim to make a supplier recommendation to the PCC by the end of September. Once this is done, we can apply for permission from the Diocese to carry out the works and submit grant applications to possible funders.
A lot to do and a lot of money to raise but we are already well on the way. We can do it!
